Direct to Film Printing
Artwork printed onto a transfer film, cured with adhesive, then heat-pressed onto fabric.
About direct to film printing
Direct to film — usually shortened to DTF — prints the design onto a film sheet rather than onto the garment. Adhesive powder is applied to the wet print and cured, and the finished transfer is then pressed onto the fabric with heat.
Because the transfer carries its own adhesive layer, the method is not tied to one fibre type the way some garment decoration is, and a design with many colours presses in a single pass just as a one-colour design does.
Where it is typically used
- T-shirts and polo shirts
- Hoodies and sweatshirts
- Workwear and uniforms
- Tote bags and caps
- Small-batch garment runs
These are common uses of the method rather than a fixed list. Materials, sizes and finishing options vary from job to job — tell us what you have in mind and we will confirm what suits it.
